04/13/2012 - Enabling Apple OS X Java after JRE 2012-003 update

Importance: Notice

Dear Valued SecureAuth Customer:

Apple issued an update for Java that closes an exploited vulnerability in its runtime with tweaks to tackle other potential problems in Java.

After a Software Update of Java 2012-003, JRE 1.6_update 31 is installed to OS X which now defaults the Java plug-in to being disabled.

Java applets need to be re-enabled via the Java preferences application located in Utilities should OS X Lion 10.7 or OS X 10.6 be updated to Java SE 6 version 1.6.0_31  Please see the SecureAuth Confluence Wiki Documentation link for direction on the method of re-enabling Java applets.

12/29/2011 - [MS11-110] - Critical Product Vulnerability (Out-Of-Band) Microsoft Security Bulletin Release

Importance: Critical

SecureAuth is in the process of testing MS11-110 (out of band update) released on December 29th. Based on our testing this update will not impact SecureAuth services or appliance operating system. However, due to the nature of this update, it is imperative that any system which is integrated with SecureAuth and accepts any type of .Net encrypted credentials ( e.g. Microsoft OWA, Microsoft ForeFront UAG, other .Net applications) from SecureAuth should have this update applied as well to ensure the appropriate encryption methods are allowed between SecureAuth and the protected application or website.
